The Surprise of Your Life! was born out of a lifelong passion to explain the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in simple terms that anyone can understand. This passion was further fueled by the widespread misconception, taught by many religions, that people reach Heaven by doing good deeds and being virtuous, with the outcome only revealed after death. Pastor Rick wanted people to know that the Bible teaches otherwise—that you can have the peace and joy of knowing your eternal destination here and now.
Drawing from years of formal evangelism training and experience, Pastor Rick has written a unique and engaging narrative that avoids the usual religious jargon and complexities. While there are many books and pamphlets on the topic of salvation, this book stands out for its creative and challenging chapters, such as those on "blind spots," the dispelling of Christian myths, and its culturally relevant stories and analogies. Pastor Rick Campana has been a bi-vocational pastor and a sales and marketing executive for over 30 years. Drawing from years of formal evangelism training and experience, he has been passionate about training others to share the Gospel for over 40 years. In addition to his pastoral duties at the Connect Church in Cherry Hill, NJ, he has served as the full-time Pastor of Community Engagement for The Lion’s Share since 2017. Pastor Rick is the author of "The Surprise of Your Life!" and "Letter to a Gen-Zer!" He has three adult children, two grandchildren, and lives with his wife Cathy in Southern New Jersey.
